Deployments are hard on individuals and relationships. Been a Soldier all my life and I always ended my relationships prior to going overseas. Now, in my late 30’s I think I may have found the one and am deployed (again) and it’s the hardest time in the world trying to balance work and home life from 6k miles apart. I doubt it will last though.
As a long time military girlfriend this song breaks my heart. Yes the distance is hard, but the homecoming is worth it. In fact, today I heard from my boyfriend for the first time in 3 months and 2 weeks due to his training. Even though we have been together for awhile, he always needs reassurance before he leaves that I will be there when he gets back. I know he struggles so I do everything I can to reassure him. I can’t wait to marry that man one day. 11 Bravo leads the way ❤️
