for 2 reasons, the ramones are a pop band not a punk band, Americans have never really understood punk... except some greenday from the insomniac album and nirvanas nevermind, and in utero was more like noise punk... but the romon3s have never ever qualified as punk.. and their music is more like soft rock mixed with 80s pop music.. it isnt punk, rebelious nor talented...
