The lead guitar solos on the original Southern Steel album version of this song are so simple, in direct opposition to the extreme technicality of the heavy blues riffing throughout! The second solo on the studio version is a masterpiece of economy and precision. Steve Morse is one of the best!
I’ve seen the SMB about 4 different times since their inception (opening on tour for Rush). Bassist Dave LaRue is such an amazing player, easily rivals Billy Sheehan, yet sorta like an econo-Hellborg. I never walked away feeling disappointed.
