Not to take anything away from the Yazoo original. It’s actually very tough to chose a favourite out of the two. I think I have to give it to Alison Moyet and Vince Clarke, but if ever an original and a cover were on a par with each other this is it!
The amazing thing about this song is I’m pretty sure it’s mostly acappela singing . There’s no actual instruments of the usual sort in there. I might be wrong but I think that’s the case? Maybe there’s some synthesither bits towards the end but it’s a great example of what the human voice can do on its own.
