Not only a very beautyful song, created by an outstanding composer, but also an excellent performance of this ensemble. Rutter is an excellent conductor as well.
Lovely. For those of us with perfect/absolute pitch I think it is not sung at the pitch on the music that is showing, so I had to stop singing along! It is actually quite a curse having this genetic defect/advantage of perfect pitch. People think it is an advantage but not if you have to transpose. Mind it does make aural tests easy when you have to say what key the piece transposed to as you only need to hear the final chord.
Does anyone know which edition this is. I have found several of this piece of music written/arranged by Thomas Tallis but the wording is different based on who edited it. The copy we have in our library was edited by Brian Busch but the wording is different. My director is wanting to find the wording as is here in this recording.

People say the Angels are with them singing this, I think they are the Angels...

tallis is rly overlooked as a choral artist & that is so sad bc his work is just beautiful!

I heard this on the Gesualdo six CD "English Motets," and it quickly became one of my favorite pieces.

We sang this for a talent show and won 1st place....Tallis is truly perfection.

I simply do NOT believe that Tallis wrote anything in four sharps.
